Sarah Khadraoui explores the intersection of textiles and technology, where she blends industrial and traditional techniques to uncover the programmable potential of fabrics. Her work infuses the human touch through handcrafted interventions like sketching and material experimentation, creating a convergence that underscores the role of the hand and labor in the creative process. She expresses her work through hand weaving, jacquard weaving, and machine/industrial knitting, finding solace in the repetitiveness of these processes. Sarah's practice delves into both abstract and literal interpretations of this relationship, drawing inspiration from historical references, childhood memories, and the natural world. Each piece she creates is a testament to the dialogue between technology, craftsmanship, and personal biography, embodying a narrative that bridges past and present through fabric.

Her work is always evolving as she navigate through different transitions in her life, and learn new perspectives/skills. This portfolio is an ongoing archive of her creative process.

Sarah earned her BFA at the Rhode Island School of Design and currently works as a textile technician at the Textile Lab at Carnegie Mellon University.
